Dear Friend:
Many years ago my mom said to me, "Life is made up of moments, and it is up to us to decide which moment we want to focus on." Each minute, each hour, each day is a moment in time and you need to decide what you are doing with your moments and which ones will help you create the Lifestyle that you desire.
Last weekend I was invited to a dear friend of mine's home for a dinner party which included 4 couples. This evening was filled with so much laughter, real deep joy, sharing stories, drinking good wine, and eating delicious food. As I look back on this moment, I want to savor the joy of it all; it was as if everything stopped for just that moment, and I forgot all the hustle and bustle of my life and simply enjoyed the moment with old and new friends.
During the evening I reconnected with a dear friend, Chester who I met when I was a frequent guest on one of the Philly radio stations. As Chester walked into the kitchen of my friend’s home that evening our eye locked and we both screamed with delight to see each other once again. He was so relaxed looking in his semi casual clothes and I noticed that his semi-retirement life had served him well. We both started talking at the same time - two friends catching up and sharing all the news of the past few months.
I was introduced to Eric, a beautiful soul and an inspiration to many. The night of the dinner party marked the anniversary of Eric’s accident, a year ago when he accidentally cut off his fingers with a power saw. That moment in time changed his life forever. Eric had worked with his hands installing new kitchens and floors as well as contract painting.
One would think he might never work with his hands again as he moved into a state of anger and/or depression, and may have chosen to hate life because of this accident; yet that was not the case at all! Eric took a challenging moment in his life and turned it into an opportunity! Eric and his wife decided to recreate his business, expand his services and now they own beautiful rental income apartments in Philly, which he remodeled into beautiful luxurious rental units. Eric and Monica feel so blessed and fortunate; Eric also started taking classes in Architecture to further enhance his life and career. A man in his late 40’s has taken a firm grip on his life and decided to be the master of his own ship as he is moving into new and uncharted waters, so to speak, in his life. He has actually chosen to venture in a new direction.
What happened to Eric was his mind expanded to take in new possibilities, and to see how these new possibilities will allow him to grow and broaden his horizons. He created a mindset that focused on the positive aspects of life; he gained clarity of vision and strengthened his confidence. How blessed is he and his family for this moment?
As this year is beginning to wind down for all of us, some might be looking forward to the New Year, which is slowly creeping up on us while others might be hanging on to the old feelings overwhelmed with the thought of change or even obstacles that are in front of us today. I would like to take this opportunity and suggest that you do not think about 2008 yet, but instead focus on what you want to accomplish within the next two months that will impact your future growth and allow you to enjoy the moments that are still left in 2007.
This past Saturday I had the opportunity to spend time with a client who participated in my "Lifestyle Makeover" Program. During this time it was amazing to watch her transform into the leader that she is and to take ownership of every minute, hour, day with her thoughts. Are You Thinking Big Thoughts Yet?
In the last newsletter we asked the question: What does prosperity look like to you? As a Business Intuition Expert, I asked you to think about the "Manifestation Method" and to write down desires you want to manifest in life. Hopefully you set time aside to sit in silence and put your big life dreams and desires on paper in a clear and precise manner. As a Business Intuition Expert, let me take you to step 2. Let’s explore the process of the "Manifestation Method" a little further.
Since you have written your desires on paper, it’s time to make those desires your pinnacle of action. Deliberately keep your thoughts on the good you desire. Part of the secret to manifesting your dreams entails focusing on manifesting wealth – feel it, taste it, smell it, see it. Hear the words you delivered on paper in a clear and exact way. You, the Business Intuition Expert, are using your senses, your innate gifts to magnetically draw what you desire. As a Business Intuition Expert, expect all good things are coming to you now. Choose carefully your thoughts, feelings, and beliefs. Then, like a magnet that draws to itself like energy, draw in that magnetic energy to you. You, the Business Intuition Expert, are learning how to manifest your dreams and/or desires. Believe nothing can stand in the way of all good things coming to you now. Know in your heart this is the truth!
Continue developing your mental state of mind; allowing your mind to richly serve you. As a Business Intuition Expert, be open to new opportunities, events and circumstances for increasing wealth and success in life. Expect new possibilities opening and entering your life. As a Business Intuition Expert, there may be changes and choices to consider to keep this powerful energy activated. Being a Business Intuition Expert takes focus of your intention. Be deliberate in maintaining rich thoughts, feelings and images. Consciously send that energy out into the ethers of the Universe. Continue to do your daily routine, knowing that your message, your life’s dreams and desires are being heard and picked up.
As a Business Intuition Expert, I have found from my own experiences that as I am living this way and using my positive mindset to help me manifest wealth and good health, some great challenge crosses my path and causes me to pause.
I believe this is the Universe’s way of helping rid old situations and circumstances that have been hindering you and making room for all good things to enter your life. Please repeat often: Challenges bring me opportunities. A Business Intuition Expert doesn’t move into fear or say, this doesn’t work. Frequently in our lives, we need to let go of the old so that we have room for the new. I usually don't do stuff like this but I have to know if there is any way you can tell me what my results are going to be. I have a bad feeling about my future, I am hoping I am wrong. Can you tell me?

JOAN MARIE'S ANSWER
It would benefit you greatly to believe and understand that everyone, every moment has the power to recreate their outcome. Our thoughts, our mindset often control us but in truth, we have the power to gain control over our thoughts and feelings and capture the opportunity to create through our thoughts a new moment; a new direction. It is important to remember, you create your destiny, you control your thoughts, and you will be responsible for your tomorrow when you take control of what you are thinking, feeling and doing today. Therefore, right now you have the choice to create a new story and experience. If you are thinking "bad thoughts" about your future, you are giving those thoughts life and as you continually think that way, you are actually becoming a self-fulfilled prophecy. Does that make any sense to you?
With this being said, there are times we get a bad feeling, a sixth sense that something might happen. When that occurs, it would greatly serve you to sit in quiet and go into the situation to examine what might be the root of the fear or concern. Circumstances and situations do happen that we may not have expected or were prepared for; but as you sit with your thoughts and begin to live in truth with who you are and where you are in this moment, the answer will be revealed to you.
Usually when a situation occurs it is a wakeup call of some sort to you and possibly to those around you. It is a time for you to take hold of where you are so that you can learn and immediately grow and transform.
I have spent a great deal of time creating programs for people just like you who want to live a better, more fulfilling life but they don't know how to get there. Life is an education process and it is your responsibility to become educated and informed so that you can change your ways. I do not see anything bad happening to anyone… I do see though some powerful opportunities.
This is a perfect question that is a sample of what to expect in my coaching program. In this program questions are answered in great detail with steps to assist you along the way.

QUESTION
I listen to you on Monday mornings on the Wakin up with Whoppi show and I have a question for you.
I have three children whom I love deeply but due to circumstances (divorce/living arrangements) we have drifted apart. My children are all grown now and I am still very close with my eldest daughter not as much with my middle daughter and not at all with my son. Even though I call often, leave voice mails and even text messages I never get a return call.
When I do see my son it is only on holidays. He makes excuses that he forgets or gets busy, etc. It hurts me that he doesn't want to be in touch and I just wish I knew what his reasons are. I sometimes feel I should just stop trying. I have been remarried for 16 years and this really upsets my husband because he can see that this hurts me. He gets angry and says that we should stop giving him gifts at Christmas since he doesn't bother to keep n touch. I don't know why but I just can't do that.
After all that, here is my question. Will we ever get back a Mother/Son relationship? I miss him terribly and I keep hoping.

JOAN MARIE'S ANSWER
When I see children drifting apart from families it is not because they do not love you - it is because they are hurting in some form from the past. What I would recommend for Kathy as well as others who are in similar situations is to continue to reach out to your children. I would continue to give him presents; he does appreciate your thoughts and your gift. Children do not expect their parents to say: "I will forget you; you hurt me too, so I am not going to reach out to you either." This only causes each person to hide their feelings more because they do not want others to see or know their emotional pain.
I recommend that you continue to reach out to your son. I even suggest that you ask him if the both of you could share a conversation together. He may not return your call or the e-mail but in the voice mail, the email or if you actually get him on the phone, you must be specific and direct with your words to him. You need to say to him: "I apologize for whatever you feel I did as you were growing up. I wish you would have the courage to share with me what is going on and why you are so upset with me. If you were expecting more out of me and at that time I was not capable of delivering, I am sorry. I did not want to desert you. I would feel so honored if we could heal together, grow together and laugh together."
Please understand that even if your son does not reply or communicate with you, he is hearing your words, he is receiving your message and that is all the power you have over the situation. There is a shared responsibility on both parts and in order to resolve this situation, you both need to agree. However, once you have asked for understanding and forgiveness, your next step is to bless him with love and honor his choice no matter how difficult it might be.
Your son, as well as so many other children are hurting and hiding behind the shadows of their pain. Continue to reach out, send him a note or leave him messages that are filled with light-heartedness. Even bring humor and fun into the situation. Say something like. I know you are not going to return my call but I wanted to share with you my day. Leave messages or emails that will make him laugh and want to be with you.
Sometimes children do not realize parents are hurting too.
